Timbers we trust.

We choose each species for the job it will do and the room it will live in, then finish it to be touched.

Six species, chosen with care.

Swatches are approximate. Come to the workshop and we will lay real boards on the bench for you.

Warm, strong and characterful. Our first choice for frames, staircases and kitchens.

A ribboned oak ceiling

Certified, local where we can, and seasoned.

We buy from certified sawmills in the UK and Europe, and we season boards in our own store before they reach the bench. Timber that has had time to settle makes joinery that stays put.

Where we can, we buy by the tree so every door in a room comes from the same log.

Finished to be touched.

01

Hard-wax oil

A durable, breathable finish that deepens the grain and can be spot-repaired.

02

Natural oil and wax

Soft, traditional and beautiful on furniture. Easy to refresh at home.

03

Hand-painted and sprayed

A smooth, tough painted finish in any colour, applied in our spray room.
